New Beginning

27:

It’s been more than a month since I have posted an entry! Been doing a lot of other thing other than my FYP. But I think it’s worth it.

Firstly, my internship at Orient Design Singapore has came to an end in end of July.

The first two weeks of August was spent doing miscellaneous stuff and research. But the progress has been rather tragically slow. All that I know of is doing something related to Chinese character/typography. The difficulty lies in deciding the theme.. Takes a lot of courage to make decision that will affect the rest of the academic year.

Took the KTM Train from Tanjong Pagar Train Station, which will be relocated to Woodlands in 2011. It was an experience not to be missed. Old train. Lots of nostalgia from the surrounding and sounds. A short ride to Johor Bahru with Sing Ying where we jalan jalan at City Square before returning to Singapura by bus.

It’s also been many years since I went to the Natsu Matsuri aka Summer Festival in Japanese School at Changi. A big thank you to Kiyoko for helping me with the ticketing! You looked awesome!

I’m very glad to have accompanied Sing Ying to this year’s festival. I would never have done the bon odori if not for her LOL. Let’s get a nice yukata from Japan k?

Bintan! What a way to end my long summer break with the vis com gang at Bintan Lagoon Resort.

Great beach, great company, whole load of fun and laughter, excellent food from almost all of us.

Managed to snorkel there, sea urchins spotting, coral reef, random sea creatures and fishes. The weather wasn’t great, but didn’t really matter. Caught the sun rise in the last day. Saw loads of tiny little crabs on the shore. Took some seashells back to Singapore :D

Thank you Bern and all the vis com gang that were there :)

Last but not least, Youth Olympic Games 2010 Closing Ceremony @ Marina

It was very memorable, exciting. Glad that the YOG ended with a big night! Loved the atmosphere and the crowd. I wouldn’t specifically say what’s good and not. The whole celebration was something you cannot feel when you watch it on TV. Unlike NDP, the whole ceremony was a celebration with the whole world.

Sing Ying and I managed to get the 2nd tier tickets at $40 each which came with a nice VISA/ezlink card with the image of Merly. We reached there at about 5:40pm. It wasn’t so crowded until past 6:30pm.

The moment came and the flame was gone. We all had our part of complains and inconveniences during the past few months over the games. But I genuinely felt quite sad to say good bye to this sporting event. YOG is a love hate relationship. In the end of the day, the spirit of Olympicism was alive in Singapore.

School will start next week. My final year in ADM. Time flies doesn’t? Let’s end this long journey together!

We can do it!

Thank You!
